I have for years always wore running shoes for everything usually nike shox. I always found I would have shin splints, ankle injuries etc. Well that's because running shoes are only for the running! Not for high impact or plyometric type workouts. Running shoes have layers of cushioning, and arches which are too much cushioning for high impact. When you land it's to much shock going back up into you body causing ankle injuries, knee injuries.
When doing high impact workouts you need a shoe made specifically for that. Those are trainining shoes. One particular brand is Reebox Crossfit I recently invested in several pairs of these I have noticed a huge difference in my workouts. I am not finding that my feet hurt when working out, my legs don't hurt, not getting shin splints! My form is better and my speed is better.
Training shoes are made with less cushion and a flatter sole with no arch. So when looking for a pair in any brand out there look for it to say training and have a very flat sole like the one in the picture.
These types of shoes are what extremely works best for everyone but especially with people who have flat feet.
Shaun T creator of Insanity and T25 has flat feet! At home he actually works out to both programs barefooted! However you can not always do that and when he has to have shoes on he wears Reebok Crossfits!
Please wear the proper shoes for the right workout to prevent injury!
